Understanding the urgent need for aligned efforts in pursuit of collective recovery, TechAlliance was invited to contribute to the Mayor’s Economic Impact and Recovery Task Forces. Over the past few months these meetings, led by Mayor Ed Holder and Deputy Mayor Jesse Helmer, have been a vehicle to transform Londoners’ expressed needs into actions and initiatives. We remain diligent in using our seat at the table to advocate for the entrepreneurs and industry that fuel our innovation economy.
Alongside leaders who know the incredible potential that London holds for emerging entrepreneurs and scaling tech companies, including Digital Echidna, Info-Tech Research Group, Paystone and Media Sonar, we are even more confident in our region as an essential component of Canada’s innovation economy.
As a result of this coordinated effort between business and community leaders, these task forces have generated dozens of actions and initiatives to create real, lasting impact for the benefit of the individuals and groups that continue to build our economic future.
Now, as we look towards re-entry into an ecosystem transformed, it’s crucial that we act in tandem to provide pathways for our community to make comfortable transitions and get the foothold they need to launch, grow and scale.
We feel privileged to contribute to the development of concepts to inform the new London Community Recovery Network (LCRN). We will continue to be a strong partner in the execution aligned with the city’s vision for an essential community forum, rallying voices in business, government, economic development and academia to enable our relief, recovery and revitalization.
Working together with key change makers from a range of sectors, the LCRN will identify new opportunities for action within our community that inform a long-term recovery plan.
Building on our region’s track record for outstanding talent, rich opportunity and world-class collaboration, this network will set a new standard for business and community life in London. In order to strengthen entrepreneurs and technology leaders ready to create new and lasting successes, we are ready to offer our voices and resources to enable social and economic solutions.
