Canadian Business and PROFIT today ranked video game developer Big Blue Bubble No. 141 on the 26th annual PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. Published in the July issue of Canadian Business and online at PROFITguide.com, the PROFIT 500 ranks Canadian businesses by their revenue growth over five years.
London, Ontario video game developer Big Blue Bubble made the 2014 PROFIT 500 list with five-year revenue growth of 415%.
“The members of the PROFIT 500 are the elite of the country’s entrepreneurial community,” says James Cowan, Editor-in-Chief of Canadian Business and PROFIT. “Their stories are lessons in business strategy, innovation, management excellence and sheer tenacity.”
“Big Blue Bubble is honoured to be on the PROFIT 500 ranking,” says CEO Damir Slogar, whose company was ranked 38th on the PROFIT HOT 50 back in 2007. “This achievement reflects the quality of our games and the consistent dedication of our team over the last 10 years.”
Siting his company’s longevity, Slogar makes an interesting point: “It’s not often you see over 400% revenue growth in a company that’s been around as long as ours. Being in business for over 10 years, we’re particularly proud to show growth that is more commonly experienced by younger companies. This remarkable growth reflects our continued ambition to become one of the most recognized brands in mobile free-to-play gaming.”
And they’re well on their way to achieving that goal, having experienced great success over the years with the release of over 100 games. Some of their more recent titles are Burn the Rope 3D, My Muppet Show, Finder’s Keep, My Mammott, and the wildly successful, much beloved and critically acclaimed My Singing Monsters, winner of several awards including the GMIC 2013 Global Game Stars Award in San Francisco last year.
