Late last week the Advisory Services team had a chance to tour the technology facilities at Fanshawe College with Industrial Research Chair John Makaran, and Anne-Marie DeCicco-Best, Government and Business Relations Advisor. It was a great opportunity for the team to see, first-hand, some of the cutting edge equipment that the students at Fanshawe have at their disposal.
From Fanuc robotic arms to 3D printers, Fanshawe has made significant investments to purchase equipment in the last couple years. Partnerships with companies such as Siemens and Fanuc have helped to make these purchases possible and students, as well as established companies, have benefited.
How can your business take advantage of these resources? Fanshawe is open to collaborating with leading edge technology firms to conduct research in product development, product validation and rapid prototyping.
With the help of government funding initiatives like CONII and NSERC ARD, students and researchers plan and complete research projects. From digital media to advanced robotics and manufacturing, Fanshawe’s faculty pride themselves on bringing industry-level project management skills to each of their research engagements.
TechAlliance is looking forward to working with Fanshawe again this year and we hope to help coordinate even more industry collaboration projects and student entrepreneurial events.
