It was a busy summer for the TechAlliance team, as 31 new entrepreneurs entered our doors between June and August (including 10 from outside of London), and an additional 13 so far in September. This brings the total number of entrepreneurs actively working with TechAlliance to 130! We are working with clients at all stages of development, with 45% in the idea or discovery stage, 30% in the validation/prototype stage, and 25% generating revenue and scaling their business.
To handle the increased demand for our services, we have expanded our team over the summer – adding two new business analysts (Howie Chan & Deniz Temelli) and two Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (Mike P. Banovsky and Jennifer MacDonald). Our in-house expertise now covers all industry sectors including digital media/ICT, life sciences, clean technology, agriculture and advanced manufacturing.
Many technology companies working with TechAlliance made significant progress over the summer, reporting significant gains in revenue, employees and growth into new facilities. More recently, 4 of our client companies were successful in the MaRS Level Up funding program ($20,000), which was a very popular Ontario-wide competition. Each of these companies will be featured on our website in the coming weeks, so make sure to bookmark our website and visit often to learn more about the success of local tech entrepreneurs in the community!
