Joydrop/Mikutech, a London, Ontario based software development company that specializes in game development, has confirmed the return of Game Slice, hosted this year at Centennial Hall in downtown London, Ontario on Friday, September 13th, 2019. New for this year is Joydrop/Mikutech’s partnership with TechAlliance as they welcome them onboard as co-host in the fourth annual Game Slice event.
“This is an exciting year for Game Slice as we move into the iconic Centennial Hall. Taking advantage of the increased space will allow for even more exhibitors and playtesting opportunities. We created Game Slice back in 2016 after hearing that people were surprised to discover that London had a vibrant and flourishing game development community. We continue to work towards raising awareness of our industry and we are proud to be partnering with TechAlliance who come on board as co-hosts for this year’s even bigger event.” Said Mark Mikulec, Joydrop/Mikutech Founder and Chief Technical Consultant.
Game Slice is a first of its kind event that gathers game industry professionals to provide sneak previews for in development games and gather feedback from like-minded professionals. As an event made exclusively for game developers, by game developers, it provides constructive feedback for game makers on vertical slices, alphas, betas and release candidates, in a collaborative, exciting and fun atmosphere.
Last year, over 140 professionals from more than 30 game development companies showcased 24 unreleased games. The event was made possible by the support of Digital Extremes, Robertson Hall, Insurance, Harrison Pensa, and the London Economic Development Corporation, among others.
When asked about Game Slice, Andrew Burton, Founder of London based Plateau Games said “I loved Game Slice last year. The energy, the feedback, and all the awesome developers really made for a great time, and showed off what an incredible game development community we have here in London”
