London is quickly emerging as a centre for the digital interactive and gaming sector. With expertise in digital interactive game development, website publishing, content creation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and mobile applications, London is becoming a niche market. It is for this reason that London is attracting talent and international attention as local companies continue to grow and increase their global reach.
To support the growth of the sector, the Digital Interactive & Gaming (DIG London) conference strives to bring together the various assets of Southwestern Ontario that have built and sustained the boost to the gaming and digital media industries. These assets include innovative tech companies, such as the award-winning Digital Extremes, and nearby institutions that are turning out industry-specialized, high-performance graduates. Such students make up the emerging talent that will keep the sector in the upswing it is currently experiencing.
The continuous and steady upward movement of the industry shows no signs of letting off. This strengthening of the gaming and digital media industries holds promise in our economy as students witness the diminishment of various, traditional sectors and the increased presence of the tech and content creation sectors.
Not only is there growth and the promise of stable occupation, but such industry jobs are also noted for being fulfilling and enjoyable. Tech-savvy students are finding their calling in this field, as they add their fresh perspectives and talent to companies that are more-than-receptive to the influx of creativity and aptitude.
Game and web development companies from across Canada, as well as students embodying the next generation of innovation, are represented at DIG. Content creators gather in downtown London to present and discuss new products, attitudes, and ideas in the industry while local students attending the event have direct access to school representatives and job recruiters. The presence and provision of each is what expands and develops the content creation machine in London even further.
It is the bringing together of Canada’s leading developers, publishers, tech companies, service providers, and emerging talent to share, collaborate, and network that will allow DIG to help to grow the gaming and digital media industries in our sector.
DIG London takes place on November 14 at the London Convention Centre. Learn more about the roster of speakers and registration details at diglondon.ca.
