Hey London,
Just over 18 months ago, I arrived to start my MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business. I’m from Victoria, so moving out to southern Ontario was a bit of change in scenery. But I quickly began to enjoy London and Western – I soaked in the energy that the city had to offer and became involved in the community, joining local sports teams and volunteering. When I graduated in June, I decided that I wanted to stay in London and become a part of this community.
That is why I’m so excited that I joined TechAlliance, taking on the role of Manager of Business Services! I’ll be working with our team to provide support for early stage entrepreneurs and ventures that need support scaling their businesses, and collaborate with other community organizations to launch exciting new events and initiatives. I’ll also be searching for more capital to grow the London ecosystem, hopefully bringing in money that will help launch the next Voices.
Before my time in London I was an active member of the sport and events community, organizing a triathlon series across western Canada and the Canada Winter Games (think mini-Olympics, but only for Canadians) in northern BC. I filled a number of different roles, but my real task was almost always the same: bring people together to do cool things that they couldn’t do on their own, and empower individuals to pursue their goals. I think that great things can be accomplished in the London entrepreneurial community, and I’m excited about what we’re going to create together.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
