The monthly Spotlight is an opportunity to learn more about a leader, innovator or entrepreneur in the tech community. This month, we spotlight Maureen Harrison of 2A3Group.
Who do you look to for inspiration, in business or your personal life?
My first boss when I got into the recruiting business – Ivars. He was like an older brother to me. He taught me the business and also taught me how to ski! He was the best person I know at resolving conflict. I still turn to him when I have a difficult decision to make.
What is the #1 business book you would recommend?
Future Files – A Brief History of the Next 50 Years by Richard Watson.
What is your mobile device of choice, and why?
I use a Blackberry. I like the key pad versus a touch screen. I really only use my device for emails. If I need to search the net I do it on my lap top. I do not even hand out my cell number. I only use the phone for emergencies or if I am late.
What keeps you up at night?
I constantly worry that I have forgotten to do something. My to do list keeps repeating in my head all night long.
Looking at your company’s future, what are you most enthusiastic about?
Growth – I am looking to hire and expand. I love the recruiting business because it is constantly changing. The people, the technology the challenge are never the same each day. Every new search presents a new opportunity to meet new people and learn about new technology.
