Name: Rajah Lehal
Title: CEO & Founder
Company: Clausehound Inc.
Clausehound Inc., a growth-stage company, provides online training for business law deal negotiations. Our “Negotiation Workshops” offer an interactive learning experience on business law topics that are typically learned after years of practical experience. Scenario-based workshops expose attendees to some of the main negotiation points and clauses commonly found in typical business law agreements. Behind the scenes, participants are encouraged to use Clausehound’s learning curriculum of “digestible” content to prepare for discussions with their lawyer and business partners, to “ask the right questions”, and to make informed contractual inquiries.
What is your role and what is your favorite part of your job?
I am the Founder and CEO of Clausehound Inc. My favourite part of running a company is the constant problem-solving I have to do. Every day is different and comes with new challenges and hurdles. I learn something new every day and thrive on the unpredictable nature of the startup lifestyle.
If you could have a coffee with any business leader or industry expert who would you choose and why?
Lord Alan Sugar. He’s a very multi-faceted business expert and would surely be able to share some interesting insight and experiences with me.
What is the number one business book or blog you would recommend?
https://twentythirty.com/ – Their content explores business through the lens of sustainability, justice and world peace.
Looking at your companies future what are you most enthusiastic about?
I’m most enthusiastic about seeing Clausehound expand. The nature of our business is applicable worldwide, and not just to law firms and corporations. Our software can help any business owner or individual with legal inquiries. I would love to see Clausehound be used by people all over the world. The variety of users would help Clausehound become an even smarter software, capturing knowledge from across borders.
What excites you most about the local tech community?
What excites me most about the local tech community is the rapid growth. Companies are popping up constantly and are creating some of the most innovative tech I’ve ever seen. Organizations like TechAlliance are also what excite me about the local tech community. Creating spaces for knowledgeable founders, developers, etc. to gather and discuss is what helps build a smarter world!
What causes or community activities is your company involved in?
Clausehound is an active member in a number of communities in Toronto. Clausehound has been a member of various incubator/accelerator programs throughout Toronto – including the Ryerson Legal Innovation Zone and the George Brown College Digital Media and Incubator space. Clausehound also collaborates with various organizations to spread news and knowledge about the great things happening in our respective communities. Though unrelated to Clausehound, I am also the North American Chapter Head for the BMW Foundation – an organization that “promotes responsible leadership and inspires leaders worldwide to work towards a peaceful, just and sustainable future.”
