The monthly Member Spotlight is an opportunity to learn more about a leader at one of our member companies and showcase the company. This month, we spotlight Steve Todd, Director of Business Development with Polar Imaging Inc.
1) What is your mobile device of choice, and why?
My mobile device of choice would be my iPhone because it’s simple; it syncs well with my other devices and provides me with apps that make my life a lot easier.
2) Who do you look to for inspiration, in business or your personal life?
I look to family and friends for inspiration. In business and in my personal life, I always strive to do things with integrity and honesty. The relationships that I have with my family and friends are a constant reminder how “treating people the way you’d like to be treated” can really make life a lot more enjoyable.
I’ve learned that this philosophy translates well into my business life. At the end of the day, people tend to do business with people, not necessarily the companies that they work for. Staying true to theses value inspires me to get up every day and continue to do, what I do.
3) What is the #1 business book you would recommend?
Customer Satisfaction is Worthless, Customer Loyalty is Priceless by Jeffrey Gitomer
4) What keeps you up at night?
I often reflect on the relationships and interactions that we have with our customers on a regular basis. In business today, customers are very tech savvy and things move rather quickly. It’s important for us, as a company to be ahead of the curve. Our customers look to us as experts in our industry and ensuring that we’re always offering them cutting-edge solutions and world-class service has resulted in a more than a few sleepless nights.
5) Looking at your company’s future, what are you most enthusiastic about?
I’m enthusiastic about that fact that our company continues to stay relevant. Given how quick technology moves, I find that to be a real advantage for our company’s future. Organizations don’t have the time or resources to become experts in the information management space so that’s why they turn to our company.
We know our niche in the industry and we keep focus on what we do best. Someone once told me “if you want to be successful in business, find something that everyone dislikes doing and be the best at it”.
Managing information is not the most glamorous of tasks but it’s something that’s critical to all businesses. I feel we have an amazing team of individuals, passionate about being the best and that makes me very enthusiastic about our company’s future.
