Two young London entrepreneurs and TechAlliance clients, Diana Robbins and James Lynch, have launched Scratchd Inc. a mobile version of the scratch and save ticket, giving businesses a new way to reach the mobile market and Londoners a new way to win and save.
“It is a fun approach for businesses to promote and for Londoners to save” say Robbins and Lynch. The number of mobile users has grown exponentially and while businesses can reach their clients faster and easier now than ever before, most consumers are very familiar with this method of promotion and have come to expect it in their everyday lives. Scratchd Inc. with its Scratchd mobile app allows businesses to advertise in a way that is relevant to a consumer’s daily on-the-go lifestyle.
The service is strictly mobile; Mobile Scratch, Mobile Save, and Mobile Redeem. The goal is for consumers to be able to find what they want, when they want it! Businesses create a profile on scratchd.ca while mobile users download the FREE app and get started instantly with winning and saving.
Mobile users that have downloaded the app, scratch by rubbing their finger over the image on their mobile phone to reveal one of several hidden offers underneath – just like a scratch and save ticket! The consumer must arrive at the business prior to the expiry of the offer and share the electronic redeem code with the merchant.
The idea came from Robbins’ passion for the sales industry and through her past experiences of working with businesses and creating client oriented solutions. “Scratchd is a solution which has been created based on the value sought after by both business and consumer” said Robbins.
Kartik Thakore, a biomedical engineering Masters student from Western University joined the Scratchd team as the lead programmer in early June 2012.
The app is currently available on Google Play and the Apple Store, and will be on latest BlackBerry touch screen phones in the near future.
