TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Life Sciences Ontario (LSO) proudly announces the recipients of the 2025 LSO Awards, celebrating excellence and innovation in life sciences. Now in its 22nd year, the LSO Awards continues its longstanding tradition of recognizing outstanding individuals and companies whose contributions have significantly advanced Ontario’s life sciences sector.
From research leaders who have advanced scientific understanding through their pioneering work, to ecosystem builders who have fostered environments that nurture innovation and collaboration. The awards also recognize organizations that have made substantial contributions to the province’s economic growth, alongside emerging innovators who are developing transformative solutions for diabetes care. This year’s award recipients represent diverse facets of excellence across Ontario’s life sciences, spanning several key areas of achievement:
- Lifetime Achievement Award – Dr. Janet Rossant, President and Scientific Director of the Gairdner Foundation, Senior Scientist Emeritus at SickKids, and University Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto
- Community Impact Award – Alex Muggah, Director of the Synapse Life Science Consortium
- Leadership Award – OBIO®

- Emerging Company of the Year Award– Zucara Therapeutics Inc.
