London tech startup Yuser Inc. unveiled their Partner Market at Western University’s Purple Fest. Marking a new era for the gamified social media platform, users now have incentives to engage with each other and visit local retailers. We talked to Eunika Sot, COO of Yuser, to talk about the update.
What sets Yuser apart from other social networking apps?
Yuser is a media-sharing app where you can create content, connect with friends, chat etc. However, on Yuser you get gems instead of likes for posting content (pictures and videos). Then you’re able to spend these gems with businesses in our Market. These businesses instead of posting ads on social media give away real products, effectively transferring marketing value straight to their customers.
What is Yuser Market?
Yuser Market is the place where businesses display products that are being offered for gems instead of money, although they can alternatively provide discounts on purchases if they wish.
What’s it been like to build your tech business in London and partner with local retailers?
London is a great test market for tech businesses because it’s a big city, but not too big and overly saturated. London is also a bit fragmented – tend not to veer too far away from their usual spots, and we want to change that by cross-promoting different businesses on our app. Businesses in London know that this is the case and are usually super positive about what we’re trying to do.
