Life Design Analysis, a London, ON-based life insurance sales & presentation software company, recently became recipients of the MaRS Discovery District Embedded Executive program. Embedded Executive funding helps place a C-level or other senior-level executive to support achieving their next growth milestone. Ventures can receive up to $50,000 toward the cost of the Embedded Executive’s salary.
TechAlliance: Tell us a bit about Life Design Analysis and what you do.
Barry Crowther (Life Design CEO): Life Design Analysis (LDA) is a SaaS business targeted at Life Insurance and Financial Advisors. Our solution focuses on addressing an outdated and highly manual business process for comparing life insurance products. For the first time advisors can easily access product information across all carriers, and develop a professionally branded client proposal in a matter of minutes as opposed to days. We provide a tool that improves the communication of life insurance options to their clients that results in higher close rates.
TechAlliance: Embedded Executive grants you access to an executive for six months, how do you plan to use this to further your business?
BC: We plan to leverage the Embedded Executive grant to add a senior marketing person (CMO) to our organization. This role will be significant in helping us create more awareness for our company/products to accelerate demand generation activities. This role will also take on responsibility for developing our US go to market plans.
TechAlliance: Given the limited time period that you have access to the executive, how do you plan to best take advantage of the time?
BC: Given the limited amount of time to leverage this grant we are focusing heavily on four key focus areas: 1) Increasing market awareness and demand generation; 2) Reviewing and refining our inbound sales processes to increase win rates; 3) Assessing market needs to expand/close enterprise business; 4) Prepare US product launch plans.
