The promise shown by Ontario’s innovators and entrepreneurs is attracting a record number of foreign and domestic investors to the 2015 edition of Ontario Centres of Excellence’s (OCE) Discovery conference.
This year, Discovery will welcome an unprecedented number of investors, including a large contingent of international investors.
“It’s a testament to the quality of Ontario’s businesses and researchers that increasing numbers of investors are looking to the province as a source of new business,” says Dr. Tom Corr, President and CEO of OCE. “We are proud to be able to showcase so many of the best and brightest at Discovery and to provide an opportunity for networking and deal-making.”
Included are hundreds of international investors, including a number from China as well as members of the Keiretsu Forum, a global investment community of accredited private equity angel investors, venture capitalists and corporate and institutional investors.
This will represent the largest-ever gathering of Keiretsu Forum presidents from around the world including from the US, Israel, Turkey, China, India and Singapore.
Discovery will also see about 100 Canadian investors, many of whom are participating in our Ask an Expert feature or judging panels. Seven of the ten most active Venture Capital firms in Canada in 2014 will be at Discovery.
“This is a rare opportunity for companies and innovative technologies to be introduced to a large number of potential supporters,” Dr. Corr says.
