In the most recent post on rtraction’s blog, Kirsten Rosenkrantz writes about her experience presenting in the 60-Second Pitch Competition:
“The competition presented many challenges: creating a compelling and convincing pitch, presenting it in only 60 seconds, and getting over the very common fear of public speaking. In fact, it’s estimated that 75% of people fear public speaking, so it’s not uncommon for people to be incredibly uncomfortable speaking in front of a crowd.”
“Yes, I’m part of the 75% and I have been working for years to overcome the fear. To get comfortable speaking in public you must do it as often as possible; the best way to get over your fear is to do the thing you’re afraid of.”
