In preparation for the 2016 US General Election, Solano County Registrar of Voters is streamlining their staff related process for more efficient staffing and more engaging and effective staff training with Scytl Poll Worker Management and Scytl Election Training.
Scytl, the worldwide leader in election modernization and online voting has been selected by the Registrar of Voters of Solano County to provide an end-to-end election staffing solution that will streamline their staffing process and provide more engaging and effective training for their election workers. Leveraging Scytl Poll Worker Management and Scytl Election Training will significantly reduce administrative overhead and enhances oversight over the ongoing election staffing process.
With over 215,000 registered voters, Solano County anticipates staffing over 1,500 varied election worker positions in preparation for the General Elections in November. Election workers will be located among the 97 precincts spread across 7 cities. This high level of diversity requires an efficient and effective solution that addresses the complex staffing and training needs and the strenuous process of consolidating time sheets to manage payroll that typically exhausts significant time and resources.
“Our previous process required phone calls, repeated call-backs, and manual processing for each poll worker. We now can sign-up most poll workers within minutes through automation. This is a huge savings on staff time. Our staff have achieved what normally takes hours to run from our previous system, in just a few minutes within Scytl´s election staffing solution.” John Gardner, Solano County Registrar of Voters.
Scytl Poll Worker Management: the County Registrar’s office has expedited the recruiting process by directing poll worker candidates to a hosting site where they can register and apply online to work in the upcoming General Election. The hosting site also provides social sharing so that election officials can expand the reach of their recruiting efforts by candidates sharing the job post on social sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter. Once selected, candidates are required to complete a series of training programs customized to the Solano County Registrar of Voters’ specific requirements. County officials can track the training and work history of each poll worker and ensure they receive payment in a timely fashion. Poll workers can then log onto the system to check the status of their payment, reducing the time spent on follow-up calls to the county office.
Scytl Election Training: provides Solano County Registrar of Voters’ an online platform for personalized learning curriculums adapted to each unique position. This enables election workers to prepare for their upcoming election by completing assignments at their own pace from the comfort of their home. Through the administrative portal, the county registrar’s office can track the progression of their training courses and begin scheduling.
