Applications have opened for the MaRS Discovery District’s paid Studio Y Fellowship for the September 2016 – May 2017 cohort.
The Studio Y Fellowship is a flexible and funded opportunity developing high-performing young systems leaders who will make bold economic and social impacts while fostering innovation. Housed at MaRS Discovery District, the 25 Fellows will be mentored by industry experts, work on team projects to create systems-level impact, and trained in leading edge leadership skills.
Over eight months, Fellows work within MaRS’ key areas of focus to shape the:
- Future of Energy and the Environment;
- Future of Health;
- Future of Work and Learning;
- Future of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing; and
- Future of Finance, Commerce and Law.
The Fellowship now has a flexible part-time model that allows Fellows to work, study, or run a venture full time while participating in the program. Alternatively, they can apply for a placement within the MaRS ecosystem. The Studio Y program provides each fellow with a $15,000 living stipend for the duration of the Fellowship; those completing a work placement within MaRS will receive an additional $10,000 living stipend. There is additional funding for projects and individual professional development and learning. The new program design is intended to support Fellows across Ontario. Assistance with travel and accommodations is available to those travelling from outside of the GTA or facing financial barriers.
If you are a young leader or innovator in Ontario and 29 years old and under, apply by June 23rd at studioy.marsdd.com.
