The Synapse: Life Science Competition is all about helping people that are positively altering the landscape of the life sciences industry by giving them an opportunity to bring their innovations to the market.
The competition is separated into four phases: team formation, executive summary, commercialization plan, and the final pitch and showcase.
Team formation
After submitting applications (deadline: November 1st), innovators and master’s-level business or entrepreneurship students will form teams at our Meet and Greet in December, 2013.
Executive summary
Teams will submit a 3 – 5 page Executive Summary that outlines the business and market potential of their innovation. Semi-Finalist teams are selected to produce a full commercialization plan in February, 2014!
Commercialization plan
At this stage of the game, teams will be required to craft a ten to fifteen-page commercialization plans that will be judged for commercial feasibility, growth potential, and risk.
Final pitch and showcase
The final showdown: Our top three teams advance to the final showcase on March 5, 2014, where they will compete for a Grand Prize consisting of a cash award and in-kind services from our sponsors.
