Work-Integrated Learning

Have a business challenge beyond your expertise, time or budget? Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) is for you!

Accent

This year, TechAlliance is once again partnering with the Business + Higher Education Roundtable to connect small to medium-stage businesses with students from Fanshawe College and Huron University College to work on curricular industry projects, known as Work-Integrated Learning (WIL). To continue bolstering the thriving tech ecosystem, WIL is a powerful tool that helps prepare post-secondary students for the world of work and build a more resilient, inclusive, and future-proof economy. Students gain real-world experience and skills development, while employers gain access to new ideas and new talent pipelines.

Understanding a few of the barriers that SMEs face, such as technological adoption, staffing and mentorship capacity, financial constraints, skill gaps and recruitment challenges, or just having long-term projects that need development and execution, WIL solutions offer wayfinding and resources to overcome these challenges.

TechAlliance previously collaborated with Western University undergrads for the pilot program of Work-Integrated Learning. To learn more about how you can benefit from Work-Integrated Learning, you can check out our previous employer testimonials here.

WIL is meant for SMEs who:

Lack the time and resources for research-based side projects

Are looking for creative solutions to pressing business issues

Are looking for help with technology (e.g. IT/IS) and other business projects
