Voices.com, the largest global online marketplace for voice over talent and audio services, announced today that it has been ranked in the top 100 of the 29th annual PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies by Canadian Business.
Reporting a five-year revenue growth of 1,166% and a rank of 61 of 500 of the fastest-growing companies in Canada, Voices.com has moved up an impressive 33 spots in the list since 2016, and 65 spots since 2014. For 2017, Voices.com is in the top 12% of companies ranked nationwide.
This announcement comes after a monumental year for the company, founded in 2005 by David and Stephanie Ciccarelli in London, Ontario, Canada. In January, Voices.com officially opened its new
state-of-the-art office at 100 Dundas Street in London, Ontario. In July, an $18 million investment from Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital was announced, and in August, the company acquired US-based Voicebank.net, a platform for talent and management agents, including those for well-known celebrity talent.
“It may look to some as an overnight success story, but the reality is that achieving such an incredible growth rate is a direct result of years of hard work, strategic decisions, and the pursuit of our mission with laser-like focus,” says CEO and co-founder, David Ciccarelli. “Sustaining such high rates of growth year after year is a testament to the incredible work of our talented team who are fully engaged and aspiring to lead and transform our industry. We are honoured to be ranked with this year’s winners. The entrepreneur’s journey is an uphill climb, and Stephanie and I are inspired by everyone on this list.”
Ranking Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies by five-year revenue growth, the PROFIT 500 profiles the country’s most successful growth companies. Digital Echidna Ranks No. 182 on the 2017 PROFIT 500
Canadian Business and PROFIT today ranked London, ON-based Digital Echidna No. 182 on its 29th annual PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. Published in the October issue of Maclean’s magazine and at CanadianBusiness.com, the PROFIT 500 ranks Canadian businesses by their five-year revenue growth.
Digital Echidna made the 2017 PROFIT 500 list with a five-year revenue growth of 358 per cent.
“Digital Echidna is pleased to be on the PROFIT 500 ranking for the first time in our 15-year history,” company president Andrew McClenaghan said. “This is confirmation to me of the trust many companies have put in me and in Digital Echidna to deliver reliable, high quality results, and of the talent and dedication of our incredible staff.
“What makes us most proud is that we’ve been able to grow without compromise. As evidenced by the feedback we get from clients on sites like clutch.co, our growth has been propelled by the quality of our work.
McClenaghan said he attributes the company’s success to a strategic decision six years ago to focus almost exclusively on the Drupal content management system. In doing this, Digital Echidna was able to refine their product offering, invest heavily in accreditation and professional development amongst staff, and position itself through experience and output, as one of Canada’s leading Drupal development shops.
Drupal is an open-source content-management framework written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is used for websites and applications, knowledge management and business collaboration. As of January 2017 more than 1,180,000 sites worldwide use Drupal.
“Embracing this enterprise-friendly, affordable open-source technology and becoming active in the Drupal development community, has fuelled our growth and expanded our reach throughout North America,” McClenaghan added.
“It is never easy to earn a spot on the PROFIT 500, but this year’s applicant pool was the most competitive yet,” Deborah Aarts, PROFIT 500 program manager, said. “This year’s winners demonstrate the resilience, innovation and sheer management smarts it takes to build a thriving business today. Canada — and the world — needs more entrepreneurial success stories like these.”
