It’s no secret that the city’s best-known business success story, Voices.com, has been experiencing accelerated rates of growth over the past three years. A result of the expansion of the team behind the largest online voice-over marketplace in the world, is the outgrowing of the company’s space at 150 Dufferin Avenue – an office they’ve been in since 2009. The entire team of over 100 employees will be moving to 100 Dundas Street, a few blocks over, in October.
THE SPACE
The 7th floor of what is known as “the Bell building” is over two and a half times the size of the corporate footprint Voices.com currently inhabits. At 45,000 square feet, the new location allows the entire company to reside on one open floor at the corner of Talbot and Dundas, a luxury as the employees are currently split onto the 6th and 8th floors at 150 Dufferin Avenue. The building also boasts fitness facilities, underground and surface parking, 24 hour onsite security, and ample access to London’s bustling downtown core, all attractive perks for both the group of 100+ young professionals and the surrounding businesses who will also benefit from the location shift of the group.
THE TIMELINE
A move of this magnitude will take the summer to complete, with the Voices.com team making the final move the first week of October, 2016. Between June and October, the new space will be prepped with new flooring, including an indoor polished concrete track that will lap the massive office, new Herman Miller furniture, private, glass phone booths and a dozen meeting spaces. Special use spaces include The Forum, which will be for large presentations, and The Plaza, which allow for companywide meetings and facilitation of “collision moments.” The new office will also feature an oversized kitchen and cafe space to accommodate 300 employees. Renovations are inspired by Herman Miller’s Living Office design philosophy. Ciccarelli discussed the Living Office and how Voices.com will be implementing it in the new space in a recent Forbes piece, published May 2016.
